2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, Artist Series Five 1.5L
Tasting notes
When we discovered Hiroko's wildlife art, we were absolutely captivated. She paints largely from memory reinforced by other resources with the tiniest of brushes, depicting in such detail the intricacy and exquisite beauty of her subjects. Hiroko is featured in this PBS story. Following the idea of our first four artist series labels, number five features an image from our label icon, the Green Darner Dragonfly. These beautiful creatures, with their shimmery, translucent coloring, are commonly found in our streams, ponds, and marshes. Watery locations such as these, provide hunting grounds in an annual migratory loop that takes at least three generations to complete!
The wine is one special barrel of Cabernet Sauvignon from Bacchus Vineyard Block 9b. It is a full, rich, beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon. The aromas and flavors are generous and engaging with loads of briar fruits like Cascade blackberry, boysenberry and black raspberry. Then Italian plum and fig are accented with tobacco, vanilla, and a touch of cedar. It is a giant, lush, fabulous mouthful of wine and it will age, especially in the large format bottle.
Available only in magnum. Limit 2 bottles.
