Letterpress Print, Green
The original graphic art was created by Chanda Williams who is a master at design. She approaches her work in a very special and personal way wishing to create something that honestly connects the art and the brand to the people involved. She has a way of pulling from you what matters, what you love, what you care about, and then she turns that into a visual. We had worked with Chanda before, and she knew us well. Close friends and those who know us well, say the image is "so John and Molly," combining our love of plants and animals in a botanical, artful, and beautiful desgin.
The prints are made by Joel Benson on a press that dates back to the late 1970's, who says he can't imagine doing anything else. This type of printing process dates back to about 1450 and was the standard method of printing for roughly 500 years. Letterpress printing is a method of relief printing, where the ink is applied to a raised surface that gets pressed into the paper to transfer the ink. Paper for letter pressing is especially dense so that when the images are pressed into the paper, a delicate deboss is left behind. The paper is also archival and acid free, so these will last for many decades, especially when properly framed.
