2023 Chardonnay, Rainmaker Vineyard

This vintage is our second working with this unique, high elevation, exceptionally cool-climate site. These conditions result in a style of Chardonnay that is pure, clean, and fresh. This particular vintage has an especially delicate, floral nose. Fragrances of apple blossom and white lilac elevate notes of fresh cut pineapple on the nose. Enrique’s notes include a fruit that is new to us, called a lima. He tells us it is like a lime, but orange in color and sweet in flavor. We haven’t tried one yet, but we are on the lookout for one. The flavors are bright and fruitful, and the mouth-feel is soft, smooth, and coating. Juicy acidity balances a long, tasty finish...more

2023 Chardonnay, White Salmon Vineyard

The vines at White Salmon Vineyard average twenty years old and are planted in volcanic clay loam on their own roots, meaning they aren’t grafted onto root stock. This is common in Washington State and we think this fact contributes to a purity of character. This is a Chardonnay that is bright, complex, and balanced. Of our two Chardonnays, this is the one with a hint more richness. Aromas of white peach and perfectly ripe pear combine with exotic kiwi and star fruit. Creamy vanilla and the tiniest hint of almond round out the characters. A minerality that is reminiscent of dry clay, like when you are kicking at dry earth, provides added dimension. The mouth-feel has medium weight, and the acidity is lush and mouth-watering...more

2022 Pinot Noir, Mount Richmond Vineyard

The 2022 vintage is our ninth working with this fruit, and with time, we have achieved an exquisite balance between the fruit, tannin, acid, and overall structure. This vineyard lends itself to dense, full-bodied Pinot Noirs, and we love this! It is a beautiful, deep, complex, balanced wine.

At first, a touch of earthiness then opens to bold expressive fruit. That fruit is an explosion of the aromas you find when you put your finger nail into the skin of a tangerine. We know this sounds a little unexpected, but sometimes an aroma is powerful and precise. Once you have had this initial, heady experience, then the floral notes and dark fruits start to peek through. Black mountain raspberry, boysenberries, and violets have been common descriptors for this wine, and this vintage is no exception. The berries combine with saddle leather, tobacco, and a hint of cream. This wine is generous and expressive, and it continues to be so, the longer it is open, a sign that it will age well...more

2021 Pinot Noir, Oregon State

This wine is fairly classic, old-world style Pinot Noir, but with a big splash of new world influence. By old-world, we mean it has a savory earthiness to it. However, the floral notes of lilac, violets, and rose petals combined with its round, fruitful palate make it a beautiful combination of the two styles. A creamy mid-palate with nice acidity to balance makes this a beautiful food wine. It has weight, complexity, and balance, all brought together in a harmonious blend. This is a fantastic Tuesday wine!...more
